What's the best DX to use for a patient that has possibly had an early loss of product of conception? Alot of times the patient will be seen with + preg test w/ antenatal screening labs completed and when they come back in 4 wks (or earlier if bleeding) and doc runs a blood HCG and it's lower than the 1st one so he orders her to have it drawn again next week just to make sure it's going down and to determine if a D & C is necessary. I'm having a hard time deciding which DX to use. Was it a Spont. Abortion, Miscarriage, or abnormal lab? Any help would be great.
