Hello,
Does anyone know what HCPCS code would be used for a bone substitute allograft such as, AlloSource AlloFlex flexible bone matrix? I realize this is probably included in the procedure code but I am not billing a procedure but instead working on an item master list and need HCPCS only for this product. I can include more than one HCPCS code for each POS. I think it should be C1762, C1889 or L8699. My coworker states it should be C1713 because all bone substitutes are coded with C1713. I don't think this is appropriate though, per CMS C1713 can be used for synthetic bone substitutes. But the above product is not synthetic. Does anyone have any experience with bone substitute allografts especially the one above? Any insight would be much appreciated.
