Hello everyone.
Just asking for an opinion....would you use the G0105 code if one of the diagnoses is
V160? Or would you use the 45378 from the CPT book? Thanks.

Yes. But it depends I guess. Is this for Medicare or a commercial payor? What other diagnosis would you use?

Here's a scenario:

A pt with family history of colon cancer primary relative (V16.0) comes in for a screening.

It would be G0105 for the cpt and V16.0 for the icd9/dx.

However if the doctor found something during the procedure then you would use that cpt (such as 45380-colon w/biopsy).

However if the pt came in and states they have diarrhea and a family history and the doctor feels he/she should do a procedure based on the symptoms/indications then you wouldn't use the G code because it wouldn't be a screening.

Hope this helps.
