Hi

we are getting a new system and they want codes for any ordering/supplying any medications. Is there a hcpcs code for supplying pt with any inhaler? Its is a proventil HFA inhalation aerosl canister not given thru DME ?

Please Help!!

Hi,

CMS qualifies inhalers as supply drugs, which is further qualified as self-administrable drugs (SAD). You may bill the inhaler using the unlisted code (J8499) together with the NDC#. J- codes are classified as SAD by Medicare.
