HELP!!! Ok the lady that is in charge of our charge master (hospital setting) has now told us that we can not charge for any supplies that have to with the procedures. Example we can not charge for a MRI with contrast and then charge the contrast on a seperate line. Is this true??? and another example is we can not charge for a biopsy tray for a thyroid biopsy. Im so confused can some one please help. And I do understand that some ins companys dont pay for alot of supplies but arnt we supposed to charge it out with some costs????? Thanks Amy

I work too in a Hospital , and I do separate billing without any problem to received payment. At least thru 2009
Starting 2010 I think we are going to have a lot of billing problems
with medicare codes
