Why is there never anything regarding dermatology at HealthCon?

Why is there never anything regarding dermatology at HealthCon?

A short answer is that HealthCon sessions are based on the proposals submitted each year. My understanding is that the selection committee aims for a balanced mix of specialties, but they can only choose from the topics and experts who actually apply.

So for anyone who codes in a specific specialty - or knows someone who’s truly an expert - definitely consider applying yourself or encourage that expert to submit a proposal. That’s the same advice I gave when someone once asked why we don’t see dental coding at HealthCon.

That said, I do remember seeing dermatology represented a time or two recently. For example, Betty Hovey presented on minor skin procedures in the office at Orlando, and there was another session focused on provider education and coding in a dermatology setting. I think the title was something along the lines of “Questions from a Dermatologist.” (I don't remember what year that one was - I've only been attending Healthcon since 2023, so somewhere in that time frame.)
