Patient has a pyogenic granuloma of the stoma. Surgeon is planning to do a revision of a stoma. He believes this can be done without disturbing the subfascial portion of the colon. I need to come up with a code prior to procedure to check for prior authorization. Not exactly sure what I should use. Appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks

44312 is revision of ileostomy; simple (release of superficial scar). This is when a minor surgical revision is made to the opening, such as release of scar tissue.

In 44314 the site of the ileostomy is often moved. The bowel may be mobilized and trimmed. The former site is sutured closed.

44345 is revision of colostomy, complicated.

HTH,
Julie
