I am coding a bilateral abdominal wound closure.........the closure code 13101 can not be billed with a 50 modifier.......or a RT/LT
the wound is 20 cm.....on each side....do I code for a 40 cm wound closure (by adding the two sides together) or should I code 13101 and 13101,59,
13102 and 13102,59 etc.....help!!!
 
I would code this as 13101, 13102 x 7 units. Of course, this is based on the information that you are giving. For wound closures, you would add the total for each anatomic site.
