My surgeon is working with a neurosurgeon to put in a CSF shunt (62223). He is only placing the drain in the peritoneal space for the CSF drainage. What code should I use, he wants to use 62160 ???

Thanks for your help.

we use the 62223 with modifier 62 and get with the neurosurgeon to see how they bill - should be a co-surgery. Medicare will deny for records but once we send them in they pay.
