My physician performed laparoscopic lysis of adhesions with release of partial small bowel resection and (during same surgery with different laparoscope) performed laparoscopic ventral hernia repair. My reference books state that I cannot bill 44180 with 49652. So how then do I bill this? Any help is appreciated!
 
Hello, In this case you will not be abke to code the lysis for adhesions. I run in this all the time. You will be able to bill the hernia repair.

Per medicare guidelines; lysis if adhesions is not seperatly reportable with other laparoscopic procedures.
