Pt arrives in ER with complaint of chest pain. After workup by ER physician Cardiology is called to see pt at which point cardiologist admits patient. Pt complained of chest pain 4 days duration. History of HTN and cardiomyopathy. Cardiologist performs a LH catherization.
The physician has billed an initial hospital care code 99223 and CPT 93510.
There is no exam or review of systems documented. Are these codes appropriate?
