Anterior neck area was cleansed with ChloraPrep solution. Sterile drapes were placed. Under ultrasound imaging guidance, biopsy entry site was localized over the nodule in the right lower lobe and nodule in the left mid to lower lobe region. Overlying skin was infiltrated with 1.0% Lidocaine solution. 25 gauge needle attached to 10 cc syringe was introduced and aspiration was performed. Two aspirations were performed from each nodule. The aspirates were placed on slides and immediate slides were made. The slides were immediately placed in the COPLIN jar. The remnants of the aspirates were placed in a fixation solution.
