I have a question and cannot find a answer. I work for a Physicians and he is on probationary license and is not contracted with a lot of insurance companies anymore because they will not contract since he has a probationary license.

My question is he is going in to see patients and even doing injections on them and then he is having is NP go in after him and then wanting the coding department to bill under the NP. I don't fell comfortable doing this since they didn't provide the service. Is this legal? He is saying it is no difference than billing incident to billing.. I'm very confused and need help.

No this is incorrect, he provided the service , you cannot bill incident for a provider under the NP it does not work in reverse.

He keeps sending me this Indiana Law which states NP, Physicians can delegate to anyone but it doesn't say anything about Billing it out like it. The bad thing is I don't have anyone to report this too:(
