Good Morning...I have a provider that attempted a D & C but failed, so he did an exam under anesthesia and an EMB instead. I keep getting CCI edits and can not seem to get this claim to go through. I tried to bill the D & C with a 52 modifier and it wouldn't go through. I also tried the EMB with a 59 modifier and it did not like that either. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wiki Help in billing a failed D &C, EUA, and EMB

If the D&C was discontinued I would suggest the modifier 53 and the EMB with modifier 59.
