help - we have a pt who has incontinentia pigmenti. She is pregnant and due very soon. this condition is lethal in most male infants. OB-gyn has been doing normal non-fetal stress tests to monitor baby - baby is a male. The dx that has been billed is 757.33 - her insurance is denying based on dx stating that it doesnt match the cpt and that 757.33 should primarly be billed by a dermatologist. I am looking for feed back, would 757.1 be a more appropriate dx?

I would think that you would want to indicate that the condition was complicating the pregnancy for the stress tests.....maybe 648.93 or 646.93 as primary and then the 757.33 as secondary. The reason for doing the tests is that the condition in the mother is complicating the pregnancy. I could be wrong but :)
