Good Afternoon!

We are a Primary Care Physician practice and our doctors perform PAP Smears all the time. I know exactly how to bill for our Medicare patients but I not so sure how to bill for commercial insurance.

Any help will be greatly appreciate!!

Most payers accept the Q0091 if it is a screening PAP. Otherwise for diagnostic PAP it is part of the E&M code. Even for Medicare if it is not screening it is part of the visit code.
