I have an encounter that states the following:
A 110 ccof blood was drawn fromthe right antecubital fossa. This was done with 260cc syringes. His blood was next transferred to a harvesting systme and placed on centriguation at 3500 rpm for 15 minutes. Following centrigugation, the platlet poor plasma was removed and the platelet-rich plasma harvested. 5.5cc to 6cc were harvested into separted tues for bilateral knee injections.
The bilater knees were injected, the right followed by the left. This was done after sterile prep.
How do I code for the harvesting and the injection? No surgical procedure was performed aside from the injections to the knee.
What should I code for the injection of the new blood into the knees?
