I would appreciate some help with some diagnosis coding. The patient has sepsis and was found to have gram positive cocci in clusters resembling staph and gram negative bacillus. I know I would code 995.91 first,, but how would you code the rest? Thank you!

995.91 is second, if you look in your code book it state to code first the underlying infection, and the coding guidelines will tell you that the 995.91 is a secondary code, the first listed must always be the organism, in this case look up your gram positive result and the gram negative result code those first.
