Can I please get other's opinions with CPTs for testicular ultrasound done in ED? The documentation reads 1. Order name: Testicular ultrasound. 2. Order name: US DUPL ART IN/VEIN OUT LTD. The ultrasounds are being done for testicular pain.

# 1 would be 76870.
If a duplex scan was truly done (# 2), this would be either 93975 or 93976. But I rarely see spectral analysis documented with testicular (or ovarian) ultrasounds, only color and in that case, only the 76870 would be coded.
To code 93975 you need to have both color flow doppler and spectral analysis of both the arterial and venous flow to the scrotum/testicles. If only arterial flow or only venous flow is documented with the color and spectral analysis, code 93976.
