I'm new to cardiology coding.

How does one bill 93295 and 93296 for ICDs, and 93294 and 93296 for pacers? Anyone knows of any excellent reference/books to use for studying, for cardio coding?

Thanks.

I use Dr. Z as a reference and also the coding companion for Cardiology.

When billing remote device checks, 93294 is for pacemaker and 93295 is for the defibrillator. 93296 is the technical component for both codes. For example, a patient with a pacemaker you would bill 93294, 93296. These can be billed every 90 days.

Hope this helps!
