Wiki Help with HPI elements ???

Can someone give me their opionion of how many elements there are in the HPI example below? Thanks.

"This 50-year-old female is admitted for abdominal pain x24 hours with a CT diagnosis of positive appendicitis."

Abdominal - location
Pain - severity/quality
24hrs. - duration

Brief HPI...anyone else??

I get two:

Location: Abdomen
Duration: 24 hours

I would not count pain as: severity without an adjective qualifier describing the degree of severity or intensity i.e., mild, moderate etc.

I would not count pain as: quality without an adjective qualifier of the type of sign/symptom i.e., sharp, dull, throbbing etc.

I agree with Maria, there are 2 elements
Location - abdomen
Duration 24 hours

I see the same 2 elements as the responders and do not see severity. Even if it WERE counted it only = brief HPI.
