I have a scenerio where a pt was admitted and then Discharged the next day, however the pt came back to ER on the same day as Discharge and was admitted again and Discharged the next day for the same problem. How should I code this? I was thinking a 99222 for Initial and 99238 for D/C - then for the second admission - again a 99222 and 99238 for the D/C. Any input on this is greatly appreciate.
