Procedure: Intraoperative Consult

Description of Procedure: Dr. A was Operating, Dr. B assisting. They called me in to evaluate the mass in the pelvis. It was hard mass at the apex of the vagina. The patient had previous hysterectomy. They wanted to be certain that it was not attached to the colon. After scrubbing in, I then palpated the colon and the colon felt away from the posterior aspect of the mass. We dissected down past the mass and then carefully dissected it off the back of the bladder. After removal of the hard mass, there was no obvious injury to the bladder or the colon that we could identify. They did not need my services any further and they resumed the completion of her procedure and closure of the abdomen.

So I don't think I can bill for the consult but cant I code for him scrubbing in???

Thanks for any help!
