Hi-i am hoping someone can help me with this...
A patient was seen by one of my surgeons as a new consult and later had a breast re-excision/lumpectomy (Cpt 19301) on 9/13/10. The patient had originally had a similar procedure done in the same breast by another surgeon (not affiliated with my surgeon. Cpt 19125). Would I append a modifier 77 to our CPT code prior to submitting? Or would I simply submit the code with no modifier appended? Technically it's almost same procedure, the difference is one being excised by use of a wire, the other without.
Any advice you can offer is much appreciated!!!
