A surgeon performed a colonoscopy on a patient and during the colonoscopy the patient became hypotensive. The surgeon decided to admit the patient to observation, but didn't dictate a H&P on the day of admit. Surgeon did dictate a discharge for the following day. Would the provider only get the discharge cpt 99217? The admit would be incident to the procedure?
