A patient has a davinci surgery 58571 on 4/27/15. The wrong suture were used to close the vaginal cuff. The patient complained of vaginal pain. The suture did not dissolve because the wrong suture were used. Now the patient has to go back to surgery to have the wrong sutures removed.
I am having a hard time finding a CPT code and icd9. Can I possible use 58999 (unlisted procedure) and removal of foreign body 998.4

Thank you
CG

What about removal of sutures under anesthesia? I don't have the code number at this moment. But regardless of the Cpt code the ICD-9 should be a surgical complication with an E code for misadventure during the procedure.

Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. Coding can be fun, but also a headache.
