Ob patient came in to talk to the Dr. about transferring her care to Midwifery. Dr. spent 30 minutes with the patient discussing her options (no ob visit). I know I can bill an office visit, but I don't know what diagnosis to use.

Thank you!

If after seeing the Physician the decision was not to transfer care I would probably consider it global, this could be dependent upon the Insurance.
If the decision was to transfer care then I would bill accordingly... has this patient seen the Physician less than 3 times (If so I would then bill for 3 individual visits
or 4-6 visits 59425 or 7 or more visits 59426. In any of these situations I would bill using Z34.** - Z3A.**

I hope this helps.
