When a provider uses the LigaSure device to remove hemorrhoids should we code this to ligation of hemorrhoids? What about the removal of hemorrhoids using the LigaSure device, but there are 3 columns and all 3 columns contain both internal and external hemorroids. There is no code for ligation of this scenario so would it be unlisted? Or would you code this as 46260? We are finding conflicting information and wondering what other coders are doing for this.
