doctor did an open inguinal hernia repair and when hernia sac was opened and found to contain sigmoid colon. the colon was freed from hernis sac using "blunt meticulaous sharp dissection" would there be additional code for this? thanks for any help
 
Nope. Dissecting "whatever" out of the hernia sac is part of repairing a hernia. You may be looking at an Incarcerated hernia code though.

If there was any resection of the the colon, then you could bill that separately.
