one of the doctors is doing hip arthroscopes...ie 29862 but in addition to this he is also performing a chielectomy of the femoral neck.
Excerpt of Op Report: "after debridement of the capsule was performed for exposure a bur was introduced and a femoral neck cheilectomy was performed and this extended from the labral femoral head junction down the femoral neck and normal contour was restored making a concave surface convex"
Is anyone else billing this procedure??? If so are you using the unlisted code (29999) and are insurance companies paying for it?
Most of our insurance companies (medicare, bcbs, principal) are now denying this, along with the 29862, as being "experimental"
any help/information is greatly appreciated!!
