Does anyone know of a good outside company that does hipaa compliance for billing companies and is it worth it to hire them? Still little confused on what it takes to be totally hipaa compliant.

Michael, billing companies in most cases are consider Business Associates, opposed to Covered Entities. The requirements for a B.A. are defined by HIPAA Title II. (Most of it). Its fairly straightforward stuff, but something you'll want to be sure you cover. The new regulations of HITECH and Omnibus rule have made the liability for BA's similar to C.E.'s

The HHS website has useful tools, and reference material that may aid in your decision making.
