I work for an ASC facilty that specializes in EGD and Colonoscopies. Recently many of my doctors have been noting "evidence of previous surgery to..." and they identify the organ. Today there is an OP report that indicates "Evidence of previous Billroth II gastroenterostomy was seen in the antrum and stomach body". Can anyone tell me if it's okay to use ICD-9 V15.29 in these cases or is there a more specified code and do I need to use a specific code for each case? I need help. Thank you.

as the surgery is mostly indicated for refractory PUD,
v45.3 seems to be going well.
by chance if PUD is also documented -v12.71,v45.3
