Does anyone have official documentation that any HIV screen performed by a prevention and outreach provider (not a licensed clinician), the POP needs to sign off on any documentation of testing and other encounters with a patient? The New York State DOH requires this, but we are getting push back from our POP department that they don't need to sign off on documentation. I feel that if they touched the patient, had a face to face encounter, performed a coded test (86703), this should be signed off by the person who performed the service.
