I am wondering if it is common practice to hold a "preoperative visit" for billing purposes, which may have labs and/or xrays, or other ancillary testing related to the planned procedure, for the purpose of using diagnoses taken from the surgical account, (which might be several weeks down the road), so they are covered? I just am not sure I agree with this practice and am looking for some guidance or information on this. Thank you
