I have a Cardiologist that stated the he thought that a patient had to wait 72 hours after discharge to have a monitor put on. I have checked the Medicare website and do not see anything that states this policy. Has anyone heard of this policy?

I, personally, have never heard of this policy. Our cardiologists will order holter monitors on patients while they are still in the hospital or shortly after discharge quite frequently.

I'm curious to see other responses.
