Good morning, I'm reviewing claims for a home health agency billing HIT code S9494 per diem billing along side A4223 consistently and daily for a time period. They are also separately billing 99601 nursing services. Not being a specialist in home health billing, I'm finding conflicting info on the web. But it seems from definition alone that the per diem rates include all supplies and equipment. Am I correct in this assumption? Any info is appreciated. Commercial payer.
 
HIT per diem codes include all supplies to administer. Nursing and drugs are coded separately. Some government payers that do not allow HIT per diem billing (S codes) require A4223 or A4222 instead.
