When coding a unattended sleep study done in ambulatory setting which cpt code should I use for the following documentation: 95800 or 95806?
HOME SLEEP TESTING
Procedure date: July 25, 2019
Introduction: This patient has complained of morning headaches, dry mouth, poor quality sleep resulting in daytime fatigue. He reports an Epworth scale score of only 7. His BMI is 50.9.
Findings: This was a 5 channel unattended home sleep testing which was recorded for 6-1/2 hours. The study showed an AHI of 48 with desaturation to 60%. Snoring was recorded near continuously.
EKG showed an average heart rate of 92 bpm.
Quality of this unattended study data recording was adequate.
Impression: This study showed finding of severe OSA. If his insurance permits, he will return for a CPAP titration study. Otherwise he will receive an empiric treatment with the provision of an AutoPAP equipment with pressure setting of 7-18 cmH2O.
