Hello,
I have just taken over coding the sleep lab clinic at my job. I have never coded sleep studies before, so I'm doing some research. In our facility, we code for the technical component and professional component. The coder that I took over the clinic from informed me that for the HSAT, we are supposed to code 95800-TC when the patient picks up the device, as well as when the patient drops the device back off to the clinic the next day or so, and then 95800-26 when the provider does the interpretation and report. The coder sounded like she didn't agree with this being the way that it should be coded and stated that there has been some disagreement, but that this is the way it was shown to her. Please, I need guidance on this!!! Thank you.
