Our organization provides hospice and palliative care. Hospice is billed under Medicare Part A and palliative care is billed under part B. So when a patient is transferred from palliatvie care to hospice care on the same day, sometimes she is seen by a palliative care provider, and then she is evaluated by hospice care provider for admission on the same day. Both providers are from the same institution, but under different specialty. According to CMS,how are these services coded- by both providers or either one of them?
