We are a multi-specialty clinic and have been receiving denials on Hospice patients for flu shots as well as labs. We aren't always aware they are Hospice patients until after the services are rendered and we receive a denial. I didn't know if anyone has a good system to prevent this.

We have found out (now) that labs can no longer be done no matter if the diagnosis is hospice related or not. Does anyone know about the flu shots? I spoke to one of our hospice providers and they were told they cannot perform the flu shots anymore. It appears we cannot either.

We have billed G0008 with GW modifier along with Q2038 with GW modifier.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. The hospice providers seem to be at a loss as well. Thank you in advance!
