Cardiology Associates of New Haven - North Haven, CT
Certified Medical Coder/CPC – Full Time
CANH is seeking a certified professional coder to join our billing team.
Responsibilities to include:
E/M and procedure charge entry for in-patient and outpatient services. Procedures include both diagnostic and invasive cardiac and electrophysiological procedures. Extensive knowledge of invasive cardiac procedures
Frequent pre-posting audits of the medical record to ensure documentation guidelines are met. Ability to read and understand operative notes and communicate effectively with providers when questions arise.
Keep abreast of hospital coding changes.
Follow-up of unpaid hospital claims.
Assist and council patients with hospital inquiries.
Requirements:
This successful candidate must hold a CPC or CCS current coding certification. Must be a self-starter, a team player with a positive attitude, and is comfortable interacting with numerous physicians. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment for a large physician practice.
Cardiology experience required: Minimum, 2 years' experience.
