Wiki Hospital Coding Question

Needing some help on hospital outpatient & subsequent hospital visit outpatient - patient was seen in the hospital as an out patient. Our provider was consulted and pt was seen, billed a 99222 POS 22, patient was seen next day by same provider and was billed 99232 POS 22. It is correct?!? We received a denial stating procedure code billed does not match place of service on the claim.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

When you say the patient was seen in the hospital as an outpatient, do you mean that they were under observation? I'm just trying to clarify the scenario, so we can give you better assistance.
