One of the docs in our practice (orhto) does not date his consults. I get a print out of the dictation from medical records and it states "date of dictation" I asked the office manager to talk with him and ask him to state "date of consult" he said they are the same thing, but I don't agree. We have had consults with a different date for for the consult, a different date for the dictation and a third date for the transcription. I have stopped billing them if he gives them to me without a date. Am I wrong, should I accept the dictation date as date of service? Thanks
