Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me answer this question. I work at a critical access hospital and I code for the physician services. If a patient is admitted to the hospital as an inpatient and decided to leave AMA (after being admitted longer than 8 hours) and then comes back later on the same day: Can the physician charge for the second admission or re-admission? I appreciate any and all help :-)
