I bill for neurosurgeon's. I have a question. If the surgeon does a surgery on a patient in the hosptial can he bill for the discharge or is that part of the Global period.
 
If the surgery has a global period and the discharge falls within that timeframe, then it is part of the global.
 
Discharge after a procedure

Hi...what if pt went in for an elective cath and subsequently had a stent placed, pt spent the night in observation. The rounding doc discharged pt, can we bill for that? There is no global period for a cath and or stent? Can we bill anything for the physician seeing the pt that discharge day? thanks. sandy
