In need of help. I have only billed for Cardiologist in the office, can someone please give me the allowed amount on the Nuc codes from Medicare fee schedule, I was told that the hospital gets payed more for test in the outpatient setting than we do in office. I can not find anything showing more payment on cms website.

Re: Hospital Nuclear Testing Fees

I do believe there are different reimbursement rates according to the place of service. I would call a Medicare customer service representative if you can not find the exact dollar amount of the allowable. Also, if you are billing for the facility, you may be able to contact your contract management or run a report by CPT to see what the allowable amount is that the facility is receiving for the particular code.
