When you have a patient that was admitted into observation and then admitted to acute the next day, do we get to charge to admit codes, since we no longer have observation codes or can we only bill one.

You would bill the initial 9922X code for the first day, assuming they met the requirements for observation, and a subsequent 9923X for day 2.
