The cardiologist I work for sends his patient to the surgeon for valve replacement. The surgeon asks for the cardiologist to follow the patient after surgery. I know this would not be a consult. Should this be an 99221-99223 Initial hospital care or 99233-99233 subsequent hospital care?:confused:
