I work in a Primary Care office in New York State, (not New York City!) and our physicians are considering using hospitalist services for inpatient care. I am looking for some guidance in a question that was asked. The physicians want to know if we can still bill for an office visit if the patient is admitted by a hospitialist on the same day. Since it is two different specialities the physicians argued that it would be allowed. Also, two different places of service since our physician would not be doing the admission. Any insight to this question will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Cindy
