Missouri Medicaid has denied our antepartum global 59426 because patient was in the hospital for three days at the beginning of her pregnancy in another town due to mild hyperemesis. She did not see another doctor prior to coming to my obstetrician except for this three day hospital stay. Missouri Medicaid is denying our global billing if any of our patients are seen in the hospital, outpatient, or emergency room for OB complications. I was under the impression that OB complications that meet medical necessity (Chapter 11)were exempt from the global package and would not break global. I have fought this with Missouri Medicaid but they are not budging. Anyone else in Missouri having these issues? If so, how are you handling it?
